"One day it occurred to me that it had been many years since the world had been afforded the spectacle of a man adventurous enough to undertake a journey through Germany on foot. After much thought, I decided that I was a person fitted to furnish to mankind this spectacle. So I determined to do it. This was in March, 1878." Mark Twain, A Tramp Abroad

Shelf Confidence

The little one and her toy shelf.

Penelope has a routine that she rehearses several times a day.

Step 1: Pick up a toy on the toy shelf.

Step 2: Chew on the toy.

Step 3: Wave the toy in the air.

Step 4: Throw the toy on the ground.

Step 5: Pick up another toy from the shelf and repeat steps 1 - 4

until there are no more toys remaining on the shelf.

Now that Penelope can stand up she has added a few more moves to her routine.

Step 6: Pull up to standing and reach the toys in the far corners of the shelf.

Step 7: Lift up one leg and shake it in the air for dramatic effect.

And then, the climax of the show:

Step 8: Get on your tippy-toes and shake your booty in the air!

Unfortunately, this is where the routine falls apart. Penelope tends to get stuck in this position and begins to cry for help. Although once rescued, she picks up right where she left off. What perserverence!

Stay tuned for the next routine:
